Senior Coach Appointed

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce Ben Moore as the First Team Coach for the remainder of the season. Ben brings a vast wealth of experience after a very successful two decades at the NPL level. Ben started his career at Elizabeth City and has fond memories of being around the club as a young player. His assistant coach is player life member Neil Childs, who also brings significant experience to the club.

As supporters, parents, volunteers and players lets make sure we give Ben our full support as we finish off this season and build for the future.

Senior Coach

It’s with great pleasure that I write this article for the Match Programme as the official Coach for the Senior Squad at the club.

I have a great love for the club and thrilled to be back at a club where my father and I achieved many successes on the pitch, which I now hope to replicate as a coach.

Coaches Report

Round 10 saw us host top of the table Northern Demons.

A dominant first half saw us go into the half time break 1-0 up and looking like we would go on with it much like we have started the previous 5 games full of promise, fight and desire.

Upon starting the second half it was evident that Northern Demons weren’t about to let our boys walk over them and within 10 minutes of the re-start they equalised and two minutes later hit the front.

In early season matches the boys would dig in and fight back for a result. They seem hesitant and conflicted at getting over that barrier currently and a few changes will hopefully get them back on track.

Lets hope the early season fight returns and they journey back from Seaford this weekend with a positive result.

Chairman’s Message Round 12

Tough day at the office on Saturday against Northern Demons, certainly a game of two halves, a positive week on the track ironing out some issues, now hopefully we can get back our confidence and focus on the task ahead.

Well done to the reserves and u/18s at Marden last Wednesday night, great to see that you can compete at this level which gives the club and players a bright future.

Good luck to all against Seaford.

Round 10 – Captain’s Report

We’re back at Ramsay Park this weekend against a strong Northern Demons side that has had to make the lengthy travel from Port Pirie. Our training this week has been good and the boys are raring to go to redeem ourselves from last weekend’s loss. It’s been a tough few weeks but slowly and surely we’re getting back into the swing of things, playing the football we can play. I would like to acknowledge and applaud Lesley Capone and Co, for their brilliant Gourmet Hotdog last thursday, and their italian inspired Lasagne. I hope everyone enjoy’s match day saturday! Goodluck to all three Playford teams.

Round 8 – From the Stands

While the result at Ramsay Park yesterday was not ideal, the effort showed by the players was outstanding. As a team the commitment shown was at the level shown in the earlier rounds so it is encouraging to see that. There were some inspired individual performances from Maguire and Sonny Calabria, amongst others and overall this was a very entertaining match.

Round 6 and 7 – From the Stands

Hi all,

Over the last few weeks the first team has dropped points, however we are pleased with the attitude shown by all players and coaching staff. It is important to realise that for a young group of players and new team, it will take some time to become a finished product. That being said, most of the displays so far this season have been outstanding. It should also be mentioned that Round 6 was to some extent out of the control of the players and coaches. The reserves and U-18 teams looks very impressive and I am sure the Playford coaching staff and management will be hoping for these players to become long term senior players. We believe that over the course of the season many of these players will get opportunities to taste first team football.

Overall great job so far this season, lets bounce back for round 8 and put pressure on the top end of ladder!!
